Here she comes...
Keedra will be here in 4 days! I'm pretty darn excited about it too... she's been in Ethiopia for the last 2 years. We used to teach together back at good ol' Heritage Academy in Atlanta. We even lived together at AMATA. I'm not sure anyone from those days still reads this blog, but if you do, she's on her way!

This is a picture of her in Ethiopia at a Rasta community. I don't think that they have any of those here, but we'll find them in Malawi I hear!

Abuzuba abuzuba
Which means: every day, every day... I hope I spelled it right. I've been in Choma now for a bit. It seems like I've been here for years! I guess this is what it is like in a small town regardless of where it is really. There isn't much variation in what I do. Here's my daily schedule, roughly:
08:00 wake-up, make hot tea, eat a banana or orange for breakfast, shower, get dressed
09:00 go to the shops of Vena and Mukesh to visit
10:00 go to internet, post office, then to the MoE office to check-in
11:00 go to Peace Corps office to do work
14:00 back to town and to MoE office to drop-off anything that is new for them
15:00 go home to sweep, write letters, nap, read, etc
17:00 start to cook dinner or go visit friend Olga at her house
19:30 go to Choma Sports Club for sodas (4 months sober now), DSTV, and playing pool.
22:00 home to read, get ready for bed
24:00 zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
And that is a day in the life of Ringo in Zambia. I will take some more snaps for you of the stuff around Choma... maybe the Sports Club?

Erica and Nteme
So there are a lot of people in Peace Corps that I love and respect and visit as often as I can. Of course there’s my good friend Mat that I went on vacation with to Lesotho, South Africa, and Botswana. Look in the January backlog and you’ll find some snaps of him. I feel like I have neglected my friend Erica! She is one of my bestest buds and I visit her to do work in her village (and do crossword puzzles). Here was are in the back of our friend Maybin’s car (Maybin lives near her, thus the only reason I am his friend is because of Erica):

I’d just like everyone who reads this silly thing that I have some true good friends here that I know I will keep forever. Erica is one of them and I respect her very much. She is wicked good at knitting and has already made me a hat, purse, and sweater! And if y’all every send a package to me, it’d be nice if you included some yarn for her! Here’s some more shots from Nteme Village or “Erica’s Village” in Monze:

There she goes. . .
Well, Jenny was here for 9 days and they were a great time. She got to see Zambia for all it is... and even survived a trip to the village, although don't ask her what she thinks of pit latrines or nshima! It was great having her around though and she got to see a bit of Botswana as well! Here's us on a walking safari (that I'm glad she forced me to go on since I'm more of a on wheels sort of girl because I'm so lazy):

Honestly, the only thing that I really have to say bad about the trip was that it was too short! Anybody else comin' to visit? Reserve at least 2 weeks; a month is better!

Jenny, on her way to the airport... saying goodbye! Thanks for coming Jen!
