Saying Goodbye
The nature of Peace Corps is that people come and people go. When I came to Zambia a year ago, my friend Heather had already been here one year. It is now time for her to go. We're having a big party for her on Saturday. Maybe I'll take some snaps and post them. Anyway, she's meant a lot to me while I've been here and without her I'll be very sad. She's on her way back to Ohio to finish writing her book. I wish her all the best and will miss her ver much. And with her going, it makes me realize how quickly time flies while in PC!

Victoria Falls in March
My friend Erich and I went to Victoria Falls last week! We had a nice vacation for two days; it was Zambia's Youth Day Holiday. Here's a shot of Erich on the Zam side of the falls.

He took one of me on the other side, behind me is Zimbabwe. Right now it is the rainy season. The Zambezi River is just starting to be at its peak water levels and the mist from the Falls makes it so that you can't even really see them... and be prepared to be drenched! And yes, I am getting fat on nshima and ifisashi!

The Front Store

This is Choma Trading, it is the store that is in front of my house. I think that I've explained that my house is behind shops, well, this is the main one. It is owned by my friend Mukesh's family. The picture below is of the inside with Mukesh at the counter. They sell everything from beautiful chitenges to pots and pans to matresses! This is usually my first stop every single day, if I want I can even go in through the back entrance. It is strange to walk out of m house and immediately be "in town."

Lusaka Rain
Well, on a short and routine med trip to Lusaka. I forget there are places where you can buy wheat bread. I miss that. Choma is great and you'll get more pictures soon. My friend Vena just moved into a new house, I'll take some snaps (photos in Zamlish) for sure. Other than that, waiting for some visits from friends in Chipata (Eastern Province) and Serenje (Central Province). I can't wait to see Rich and Erich! They were both in my training group and we're gonna have some good times. First I need to get back to Choma tomorrow! Hope you're all well... those of you in the States, I'll be in MN in just 5 weeks! Look forward to long phone conversations with all of you (don't forget I'm a broke Peace Corps Volunteer and you'll need to call me).
