All By Myself

Well, Bev left yesterday (a Zambian holiday, so I was able to go to Lusaka to see her off). I hope that she had a great time. I know that she got to see things that she'd never be able to see anywhere else in the world. I will tell you though that my bus ride back to Choma, the remainder of last night, and this morning so far have been my hardest times in Zambia. While the visit was wonderful and I can't wait for other people to visit me from the States, when a person that you love leaves and you realize that you are essentially here alone again... thoughts of home invade, temptations to go home settle, and sadness sets in. I'm sure that in a couple days I'll be back to my normal chipper self, but I'm giving myself just that-- a couple days. Zambia is still a beautiful country with the friendliest people on earth. I still love my friends here and feel as if I can do good work here. I hope that you all are well. Sending warm fuzzies...

Cheer up buttercup! I know it must be a tough time for you. At least you don't have to sit through another season of American Idol. You are reaching out to a lot more people in Zambia. Think of all the people you will never know that are directly benefitting from your efforts. I know that makes me proud- hopefully you feel the same thing. Talk about tough times- school starts next week. I have been trying to get myself into it but am not there yet. It will be sad not to have you there for the first time ever. Whose unrestrained boobs will get in trouble this year? Chris says hello. He asked how you were doing yesterday. I have some old New Yorkers I can send if you are interested... Let me know. Love-me

Hey sweetie. Keep your chin up, you were never the the person that needed much of a cheer squad to make you smile so I know you will do fine. Your time over there will travel super duper fast and then you will be looking for another wild adventure to embark on next. You have never been able to sit still long. I miss you hon', even though I haven't seen you in years. I begin school on the 15th of Aug. Yeah, me. Jason moved in this week and so there went all MY alone time, so I will be wishing I had yours. Smile my dear, because you are loved by so many. Miss you. andi:)

Thank you Ringo for being a wonderful hostess. I had the experience of my life spending time with you, and traveling through Zambia. I want everyone to know Zambia is an awesome place. I encourage everyone who is capable of visiting Ringo to definately do it. The safari was beautiful, the river boat cruise at sunset was gorgeous, Victoria Falls is amazing, the bunjee jump was SCARY, the hike into Mwekera was long & hot but enjoyable, and meeting all of Ringo's new friends was an endearing part of my visit. The people in Zambia are the nicest I have ever met anywhere as a whole. I want you all to know that she has made a few very dear friends that watch out for her and love her. (Would any of us expect less from her?) Thank you again for everything... I love and miss you, Bev
