Toilet Paper

And that's pretty much all I have to say about it. I mean, that's the order of events for the whole of today! I woke-up late, ate leftover green beans for breakfast, and then Josh and I walked into town (about 10 minutes). No good developments on the house situation, but I'm sure things will pan out eventually. It is just getting to be an annoyance because I would like to start working soon and can't really do that if I'm not settled somewhere to unpack my stuff! I have to go buy some toilet paper now... suprisingly expensive for what it is! I hope that all is well with all of you. I'm starting to pick-up with my written correspondance again now that the burn is slightly less sensitive... so write soon!
Peace.

Annie! It's great to hear from you! I have been putting together your care package, but I've been slacking on getting it to the post office. There's a lot going on here. I'm not sure what the latest news from us included so I'm sorry if some of this is a repeat: Jody is 5 months pregnant with twins! She's due in August but the doctor says that twins usually come about 4 weeks early. So the end of July should be pretty exciting. We don't know the sex of either yet. That should be coming up next week. I'll send the latest pictures once we get them! Hope things are going well! Talk to you soon.

Ringo! Hi sweetycakes - I am just loving all your entries! I'm still curious, though - how did you get your burn? Your life sounds so exciting, so adventurous, and yet you still need to shop for TP - brings the experience home for me, that's for sure. I MISS YOU!!! Spring has finally arrived in Maine and it's GORGEOUS! I've got at least 2 different packages and several cards/letters started and eaten up in the mess that is my apartment, but as soon as I find them (read: dig them out) I'll send them right along. I MISS YOU!!! Much much love and kisses, ~Lauren

Hi Ringo! I am glad everything is going well with you...I admire you so much! I have sent you a "save the date" card for James' and I's wedding in October but I'm sure you cannot make it being in Africa and all =) My sister is pregnant again and is having a baby boy in July. Our thoughts are with you and I miss you so much! Hope you find a pad soon!

Hi Annie, I love your blog and I admire your adventurous spirit so much. Things are fine here in Arcata where I've been on sabbatical all semester (hard life, huh?) reading up on Mexican anthropology and Dorothy Allison. I'm sure you'll find a place soon and that then you'll really start to feel settled in your new post. I send lot of Calfornia cheer, Barbara

Somewhere between the burn incident and the leftover green beans for breakfast, I thought you were in the Peace (of cake) Corps! The first contingent of volunteers (in the 60's) certainly never had a private phone or an internet cafe! I hope you get settled soon and enjoy your work. We want to know how you got burned and we're also curious what parts of the earth your friends in the Corps are from.
